Bright and Sunny Weekend
What a gorgeous weekend it was. It was so great to see the sun shining and the snow melting. On Saturday we went to IKEA. We had lunch there and bought some boxes for my sister-in-law, Kathy. We also had to buy a new changing pad at Walmart for Caleb since he decided to tear his padded one to bits! Now he just uses the kind that you keep in the diaper bag and when it's not in use it gets kept in his dresser drawer that's locked. I got to have a nice long nap yesterday which was really nice since I am just so tired lately. After Caleb went to bed I started watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, but I could only make it to the part where Hagrid is showing the Trio his giant brother, Grawp, before I had to shut it off and head to bed. We also had pancakes and eggs for supper. Caleb ate 3 pancakes, the little piggy! He wasn't so keen on the eggs though, but oh well. Tonight it's just plain old boring soup since Caleb has swimming lessons shortly after supper. And I'm done teaching Primary for the next 4 Sundays, YAY! This coming Sunday we have to go to some Relief Society meeting (probably about visiting teaching), so the men are taking care of Primary for us. The weekend after that I'm going to see my Grandma for Mother's Day which I'm happy about because even after 3 1/2 years, Mother's Day talks in our church still make it a hard day for me. The next two Sundays after that I will be in Magrath visiting with John's family (YAY!). I'm looking forward to having some time off. I'm really hoping that by the time I get back we'll hopefully be moving to Lethbridge right away. Still praying oh so hard for that! The application period closes Wednesday evening, so we shall see.

Lazy Saturday:)
Nothing exciting happened yesterday other than we had take out East Side Mario's for supper. Caleb ate two bowls of spaghetti and by the time he was done he looked like he had an orange beard, it was pretty funny! This morning he decided to rip into his change pad and start pulling foam out of it, so I'm going to have to buy a new one when the baby comes. John patched it up with some duct tape though. At least he kept his diaper on:P The only plans for today are to return a movie I'm borrowing from the Church bookstore and to pick up some things at IKEA for one of my sisters-in-law. I'm looking forward to not doing too much today. It's supposed to get up to +12C, which would be nice because then a lot of this snow will melt. Caleb's going spare being stuck in the house all day.

It's Friday, YIPPEE!!
What a day yesterday was. Caleb woke up and decided to pull his diaper off and put the poo all over his bed and down in between his bed and the wall and then pee in front of his closet before putting the dirty diaper in his dresser drawer. So we invested in some Cool Alert Pull-Ups for the daytime so it'll be easier to put him on his potty and some duct tape for keeping his diaper on during the night. I really don't know what else to try at this point, this is the fourth time he's done something like this. My good friend, Jodi, loaned us her portable carpet cleaner so I was able to clean the area where he peed in front of his closet very well, so at least his room won't start stinking like pee. He likes to sit on his potty and read a book to himself on there, but has yet to figure out what he's actually supposed to do on it. I never intended to start potty training him at 19 months, I hoped that I had another year before that step so that the baby would already be here and he'd be used to the baby by then, but it seems he's sick and tired of being in dirty diapers, so I feel like I'm obligated to at least get him used to the potty and help him figure out what it's supposed to be used for. He already knows that when he sees his potty that he needs to pull his pants down, so that's a good sign, I guess. I potty trained a kid once before when I worked in daycare, but that kid was within a couple weeks of their 3rd birthday, so it was quite a bit easier to explain things to a child that age rather than a kid who still babbles incoherently.
Other than that, we were able to go see our nieces at their spring concert. The concert was good but the chairs were squished right together so I was squished to begin with because I was sitting in between two bigger people and then my nephew refused to sit with his mom while Aunt Nikki was there, so I spent most of the concert trying to keep him entertained while trying to keep Caleb from getting jealous. Caleb doesn't like Joseph because Joseph is willing to sit on my lap so I let him and Caleb isn't a cuddler but he doesn't want anyone else cuddling his mommy either. He's very much got only child syndrome right now, I hope he'll be able to work that out very quickly when the baby comes. Anyways, John went cleaning at the temple last night so I just relaxed a bit and then went to bed. This morning I woke up to Gatorade and Pringles, YAY! I love my husband, he's awesome! I'm so happy it's Friday, though. I'm looking foward to John being home for a few days:)

Rotten Mood (I need to find a better one quick)
Yesterday was such a bad day. My nausea was really bad, which puts me in an awful mood to begin with. Then John didn't toast my tomato sandwiches so I ended up making my own supper anyways. I don't know why it was so bad, I think it's mostly because I'm tired of feeling so sick all the time. I was supposed to go help clean the temple in John's place tonight, but I had to back out and let John do it because my brother-in-law needs a ride and since I don't drive, I can't take him. So now I can't go tonight and pray about/for the job in Lethbridge at the temple, so that's pretty depressing. On a plus though, John brought me home some pretzels after Caleb's swimming class, YAY! Also, tomorrow is pay day, so that'll be good. John is going to be busy the next week studying his old GIS textbooks to give himself a bit of a refresher, so hopefully everything will work out okay. I also found out when I go for my first ultrasound for the baby, so that's pretty neat. Hopefully we'll be able to find out if it's a boy or a girl, although I'm certain that it's a girl. Well, not too much else is new. Life doesn't get too exciting when I'm sick.

There is sunlight all around...
My son has developed a new walked. He swings his upper torso widely from side to side while he's walking, it looks so hilarious. I helped John do the dishes last night, which was a big accomplishment for me. I've been so sick with this pregnancy that I haven't had the energy to stand and do dishes for the past couple of months, so John's been doing all of them. But last night I was actually able to help, which means I'm slowly getting better, YAY! After several days of snow, snow and more snow it finally stopped yesterday. Today the sun is actually shining and it makes me so happy because then it'll melt the snow. I feel so bad for Caleb. He loves the outdoors and he can't go out until the walks get shovelled at the very least, so he's going a little stir crazy inside. The job that John applied for the other day closes the application period a week and a few hours from right now. I'm hoping, so hoping that John gets this job. It's so perfect for us. Well, that's about all for now. Caleb has swimming lessons tonight, John is taking him in again. I'm too scared that I'll slip while holding him and then I'll hurt Caleb, myself AND the baby.

My First Blog on Blogspot
So I used to avidly blog on my MSN space until I had a huge falling out with a supposed friend who completely degraded me to one of my best friends and then that best friend and I quit blogging on there, it was just easier on both of us. Then I heard about blogspot because my friend, Alana, is on here, but she also told me that the lady who adopted my first born is on here too, so I was pretty scared to join. But finally I decided, what the heck, I'm going to go for it anyways. I'm welcoming any comments from anyone, including the wonderful woman who is the mother of the first child I gave life to (she is amazing and L is lucky to be her daughter) should she ever come across this blog.
So here is an introduction to who I am. My name is Nicole Bly, but I strongly prefer to be called Nikki. I'm 23 years old and a full-time homemaker. I currently live in Edmonton, AB, Canada although my husband just put in two applications for the Lethbridge, AB area. His family is from Magrath and it's always been our intention to end up around his family and in an area where our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) is very strong. I would feel so much safer raising my kids there than in Edmonton *shudders*. I was born in Digby, NS, Canada on October 5 and I was the first child. We moved to Penhold, AB 18 months later. A year after we moved to Penhold my brother was born, my only full sibling. His name is Kyle and he is amazing, I love him very much. When I was 5 my parents split up and just over 4 years later we moved to Wainwright, AB. Where I spent the rest of my school years, with the exception of grade 11 which was spent in Lethbridge, AB. Both of my parents were in the military and both are now retired and working FOR the military. I guess it's like a black hole:P
A month after I finished grade 12 my mum married her significant other of 6 years, Bob. With this I also gained a step-sister, Kirby, who is 6 months younger than me. After a year of working I spent a few months living with my dad in Edmonton before going back to Wainwright (there's another black hole if I ever saw one). I lived there until April 2005, when I moved up to Grande Prairie to live with some friends. At that point I'd been a member of my Church for 10 months and had placed my beautiful girl for adoption 8 months before the move. The next month, in Grande Prairie, I met the man who was to become my husband. John and I became very good friends through activities with the Young Single Adults in our ward. We became engaged on September 6th, 2005 and were married in the Cardston Alberta Temple on Dec 31, 2005. We lived in Grande Praire for about 2 more months and then moved to Edmonton. About 7 months later we had an early arrival, Caleb Rodney Bly. He is a wonderful child who is so full of energy. He loves life and runs at it full speed, head on. We are now expecting another baby sometime in October, so my last few months have been spent trying not to get sick all over the place. My body doesn't handle pregnancy very well. So that is me, in a nutshell.
