John gave me a wonderful gift today. He bought me the last season I needed for Stargate Atlantis. I was very surprised and very happy. Not too much happened over the weekend. We bought groceries on Saturday while my dad watched the older boys. John hung out with a friend on Saturday night while I played a LOT of Zombie Farm on my iPhone. We went to church on Sunday and Brettley got lots of love from one of the Young Women in our ward. She loves him and wants to hold him every week for ALL of Sacrament Meeting. We don't complain. John takes care of the older boys and I've managed to actually be able to pay attention to the talks lately, ha ha.
I was super sick this morning, so John spent the day here taking care of the boys. He also picked me up a case for my phone when he took the boys out. Not too much else is new in the Bly house. Well, this coming Sunday will be Brettley's blessing day. John's dad will be blessing him. As I've mentioned in the past, he has inoperable pancreatic cancer and was given 6 months to a year back in November. It has been 6 months now and he's still doing relatively well, but it's extremely unlikely that he'll be around for any of our kids' baptisms, so we've asked him to bless Brettley. That's about it for us. I hope you had a great weekend.
I was also wondering if anyone has some yummy healthy recipes if they could please send them my way. They just can't involve any type of seafood or pineapple. Thanks in advance:)

Early AoG
Another early one because tomorrow I plan on doing lots of unpacking.
1) I am grateful for the wonderful pictures that my friend, Sam, took of our family. We absolutely love them and are looking forward to working with her again the next time that we're ready for family pics. What we loved the most is that she didn't really try and make us do anything that felt unnatural to us. She took shots of a lot of things that we'd naturally do. Thanks so much, Sam. You did an amazing job.
2) I am grateful that John found the base for our home phone today. We've been running solely on cell phones since Friday morning when it comes to phone calls (we got internet on Monday but couldn't find the base needed for the phone). It will be nice not to have to use my cell ALL of the time anymore:) (I'm sure I'll still use it a lot, though, I LOVE having my own iPhone)
3) I am grateful that tonight in Activity Days I got to hand out 2 certificates for passing off all of the Articles of Faith and they were both to my nieces. I am so proud of their hard work and commitment to the program and of the wonderful young women they are becoming.
There you have my Attitude of Gratitude for this week. I hope you have a splendorific weekend.

Moved
The move went fairly well. The biggest problem is that someone else packed the main part of our phone and we can't find it. So even though our phone line is up and running again, we can't use it at the moment. It makes me very grateful that we bought my iPhone when we did. We had a lot more help with this move, which was wonderful.
Today John and I are going on a strict Lose It! regime. We wanted to sooner, but trying to calorie count while needing to eat fast food and convenience food for a few days didn't seem like the best idea. John told me that when I get to my goal weight that he'll buy me a new wedding band. I'm mostly looking forward to just feeling healthier again.
There isn't much else going on here. Our life was busy all weekend with moving stuff. I'll be spending my week unpacking here and cleaning & painting at the old place. But it was so worth it. I'm really glad that we're here.
How was your weekend?

Early Attitude of Gratitude
I'll be spending tomorrow packing so I thought I'd get this up here tonight instead.
1) I am grateful for our new home that we're in the process of moving into. Better appliances, very well kept and a nice big field right in front of our unit. We're very happy with it and are looking forward to staying there until we can buy our own home someday.
2) I am grateful for nice weather to enjoy. This also makes me grateful for the two ceiling fans in our new place.
3) I am grateful that the boys and I can go spend a week with John's family after Brettley's blessing in June. They will be so happy to have so much space to run around in.
There you go, my last post before moving, unless something major happens.

I Get an iPhone
On Thursday John had to go to the church to do up some receipts (this calling is a lot more involved than I'd thought). On his way there he picked me up an iPhone 4. I've been keeping his phone at home to take to the park with me, and because he uses an iPhone as well that meant that he had no music to listen to during the day. I love that he can listen to music at work because it helps to block out inappropriate conversations between his coworkers. So I'm now the proud owner of a white 16GB iPhone 4, except I still need to get a case for it.
We had family photos taken on Saturday. It was kind of windy, but was a nice outing at the Ledge. The boys loved it. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the pictures turn out.
Yesterday in church I taught in Relief Society. It was the first time I'd ever taught my peers in church. I was so nervous. When nobody put up their hand to answer the first question I actually almost started to cry. Thankfully, a good sister took mercy on me, gave an answer and I started reading again and was able to fight off the tears. People were more willing to give answers after that. I heard I did good, so I'm glad that it wasn't a total bust. If nothing else, it definitely reminded me of how important missionary work is, not just for full time missionaries, but for all of us who have a knowledge of the fullness of the gospel.
This week we'll be doing a whole lot of packing since we're moving in 5 days. I'm looking forward to being in the new place and to not living across the street from Creepy Joe anymore. Former residents of our complex know exactly who I'm talking about.
Hope you all have a wonderful week and send lots of packing motivation my way:)

Attitude of Gratitude
1) I am so grateful that I got to see my niece pass off her last Article of Faith last night. She only turned 9 in March and has just amazed me with how fast she's working through the Faith in God program. I am so proud to be the aunt of such an amazing girl.
2) I am grateful for a husband who was willing to drop his plans of alone time at a moment's notice when I needed a second adult at Activity Days with me and for a dad who was willing to watch the older boys for me.
3) I am SO grateful for my Time Out experience. For getting such a spiritual and emotional boost, having fun with my SILs and getting to see and hug C for the first time since placement. It was an amazing weekend and I hope that I never forget it.

Time Out Experience
I learned some important things this weekend:
*I am born to be a queen
*I am never alone
*To never be the one thing standing in my way
*Hope is wanting what I want, faith is wanting what God wants
*Give to the Lord and keep back nothing
*I will know my children as adults for eternity but as children for only a few precious years
*Instead of worrying about my weaknesses, I should build on my strengths
*Stop trying to feel happy and feel grateful instead
*Instead of trying to get help with my problems, learn to help others instead
*Ask Heavenly Father every morning what the most important thing for me to accomplish that day is and then do it
*LIFE IS TO BE ENJOYED, NOT JUST ENDURED
A song kept coming into my head during the weekend and this was the part that kept coming:
"Long before the time you can remember
Our Father held you in His arms so tender
Those loving arms released you as He sent you down to Earth
He said "My child, I love you, don't forget your great worth" "
The song is called Walk Tall, You're a Daughter of God and can be found on the Church's website.
How could I experience all of this and not come out feeling the way I did?

AWESOME WEEKEND!!!
I feel like a completely different person than I was on Thursday. I kind of hit my breaking point that day. A good friend gave me a lot to think about along with a well needed dose of reality.
Friday I headed to Time Out for Women with my SIL, H. We met the rest of the family there and had a very yummy lunch at Olive Garden. We got checked into our hotel and my youngest SIL, A (who is still older than me) and I got to go swimming for a little bit. We could have had a longer time, but neither of us knew that the other wanted to go. Off we headed to the venue for Time Out. Here is my favourite part of the whole weekend. I got to see C and hug her for the first time since placement. It was the most special part of the whole weekend. As mothers go, she is second in my life only to my own mother. LOVE YOU, C:)
I loved Time Out. The presenters talked about everything I'd been needing to hear and I feel so renewed. I got a couple of books for myself:
In Trying Times, Just Keep Trying by Merrilee Boyack
The Mother's Mite by DeAnne Flynn (Why Even Our Smallest Efforts Matter)
There are many other things that I would have loved to have bought but they were either sold out when I went to get them (TOFW journal and Another Testament of Christ) or else I just couldn't afford to get them (Book of Mormon for Families). I love what I got, though and am fine waiting for the rest another time. I got to see C again on Saturday, which happened to be Birth Mothers Day.
John and the boys gave me a gift card for Chapters Indigo earlier in the week in case I wanted to buy a book for the trip. I chose Season 2 of Stargate Atlantis. This morning they made me breakfast in bed of bacon, croissants, Turtles, Tootsie Rolls and orange juice. It was really yummy. I also got a card from the boys and one from John. I had a wonderful day at church. We got great snacks in Relief Society and scented candles from the youth. John didn't take long with tithing today so he let me go and take a long nap when he got home. It was a wonderful day, the best Mother's Day that I've had.
Happy Mothers Day to any woman that is nurturing to anyone and helps teach the rising generation.

I'm Going
So I decided shortly after writing my last post that I'm going to go to church on Sunday. The reason I'd been avoiding it on Mothers Day doesn't bother me anymore, so I have no reason not to go. I think I'm just used to not going.
Caleb picked out my gift last night and gave it to me early so I could order what I wanted. He picked out a gift card for Chapters/Indigo. I used it to order Season 2 of Stargate Atlantis. Now I just have Season 3 left to buy:)
Also, at some point when I'm feeling a bit better I've decided to have a party. I can't decide between a Harry Potter theme and a Lord of the Rings theme. A friend suggested making it both. I'm still not sure. However, I need to get this move over with first.
Anyway, I'm off to feed the baby and enjoy snuggling him.

Mothers Day, UGH!!!
I've said it every year. I hate Mothers Day. I don't even think it has anything to do with L anymore, I think it's just a disappointing day in general for me. Last year went okay because I made a last minute decision to go to Wainwright and spend it there. Can't do that this year because of John's calling (finance clerk). I think I just need a really good Mothers Day one of these years to change my opinion of it...
Also, I realized in the last couple of days that because C is going to TOFW this weekend and I am as well, that we will be in the same building together on Birth Mothers Day. Odd coincidence for our situation, since our openness includes no meeting in person. However, if you are reading this C (I have no idea how often you check my blog) I just want you to know that if I do see you that day all I want is a nice big hug:)
I have until Sunday morning to decide. Am I going to brave church this year on Mothers Day, or not?

Election Day 2011
I'm impressed. I didn't think they'd ever actually be able to kill bin Laden. I'm grateful that such a man is dead. However, I do worry that the fall out could be worse than expected. I guess time will tell on that one.
Still waiting for the final word on moving. Caleb came back home on Saturday and reminded me again this morning that he's happy to be back home.
Our plans for today are to...VOTE!!! To be honest, I'm praying for a majority government just so that we won't be heading back to the polls again in a year or two. Personally I'd rather have a scheduled vote every 4 years.
So if you're Canadian, please go vote today.
